Shooting went extremely well and I feel pretty confident that the message of the film will come across strong
I also found that storyboarding the film helped bring my directing skills into focus as it allowed me to focus on what was happening in the scene rather than thinking about what shot I would need next. I also find it invaluable because it allows to me to efficiently shoot things out of order and not have to redo setups.
A couple of things to note when shooting with the 5D in future (warning geek info):
Has some problems with the aperture when getting exposure which can prove ridiculously annoying in full sunlight particularly if you are trying to get that beautiful depth of field but it keeps going to f16!
This camera is no good for handheld work if you are using anything other than a wide angle lens since the movement looks far too shaky.
The dolly tracks were excellent, but it sucks that there isn’t really a good way for a focus puller to pull focus apart from holding onto the lens
Anyways I thought I might share with you some of the storyboards and the actual shots we took. Enjoy.
